Against the backdrop of flourishing forests and crisp mountain air, these young adventurers set out to uncover the wonders of the highest peak east of the Mississippi River. Guided by curiosity and fueled by boundless enthusiasm, their expedition promised not only to deepen their appreciation for the great outdoors but also to inspire a lifelong love for exploration and discovery.

“We learned from the Park Ranger about the different animals and looked for different habits while hiking,” said first grade teacher Deanna Buchanan. “It was amazing to see the kids interact with the Park Ranger. Once we reached the top the kids were amazed by the views of the mountains and how much colder it is at higher elevations. Several students said this was the best field trip they’ve ever been on.”

With each step forward, they carried with them the lessons learned amidst the mountains, forever bound by the shared magic of adventure and the promise of endless discovery that awaited just beyond the horizon.
