This #summer, students from Charles C. Bell Elementary School get to relax with a few new books. Title I Reading Specialist, Emily Truluck, presented the students from kindergarten to fifth grade with a summer reading pack. Students received a variety of books along with a journal. Mrs. Truluck believes it’s important to give students new books for their summer break.
“As a Reading Specialist, it is my belief that all students should have access to rich and engaging texts while school is out,” she said. “This will help students continue to grow as readers over the summer months, and allow them to practice their writing skills as they respond in their writing journals.”
The students were overjoyed to receive new content. Many couldn’t wait to start reading their #books. Mrs. Truluck hopes that each student will fall in love with reading.
“My heart explodes with joy to see the looks on their faces as they explore the new books that they get to take home with them,” she explained. “It makes me ecstatic that such a simple act of giving can bring our students so much happiness and excitement. My ultimate goal is to foster a love for #reading and to create lifelong learners!”
