Bridges, Diane (2nd Grade)

Ms. Diane Bridges

I received my Masters of Science in Education at Lehman College.   Collectively I have taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th grades. I participated in Lucy Calkin’s Columbia University’s Teachers’ Reading and Writing Project in NYC for 3 years. I have also contracted as an Adjunct Reading Specialist at Lehman College in NYC for grades 7-12.  This will be my 8th year teaching in Buncombe County Schools and have been teaching for a total of 14 years.

I am also a graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice and briefly worked with the New York City Police Department Cadet Corp. Currently, I am a Reserve Police Officer with a local Police Department.  I began my teaching career in the Bronx, New York, where I was born and raised.
During my school breaks, I would vacation here in the mountains, where I eventually found home.

When I am not working I love spending time with my children, playing with my big old pups, riding my motorcycle, and visiting new places.  I am look forward to fun filled year here at Bell Elementary in 2nd grade!
