As a  student at St. Andrews Presbyterian College in Laurinburg, North Carolina, I used to come to the mountains to camp several times a year.  It wasn't until 1994 that Asheville became my home. I moved, started teaching at Bell, and got married all within a four month period. Bell Elementary instantly felt like home.
This is my 31th year teaching. I taught third and fourth grade in Scotland County for three years. Thirteen of my last twenty years were spent in second grade. This year marks my fifteenth year in third grade at Bell. I love it! My students keep me challenged at all times.
I have had many children come and go through my classroom door. Each of them have special gifts. I enjoy watching them grow. My first group from Bell continues to grow as many have graduated from college , and some beginning to start families of their own. How can they be that old?
My family is very important to me; My husband, Erik, and  two children, Katherine and Graham. Katherine is a recent graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University and Graham is a freshman at East Carolina University. There is never a dull moment at our house.
