4th Grade EcoExplorer Showcases Wildlife
Bell Student Wins 1st Place in Science Fair

1st Prize Science Fair WinnerAs part of the North Carolina Arboretum EcoExplorer Youth Program, Jaylen Peek has had the chance to observe and work with wildlife in the fields of Botany, Herpetology, Entomology, and Ornithology. 

The Arboretum sponsors a Science Fair and Jaylen won in the 4th - 8th grade category. His winning project showcases the Red Shouldered Hawks that he observed in his own yard.  He took many photos and videos, researched and studied them through the eyes of a scientist.

Through this program he also works with scientists at the NC Arboretum to Tag butterflies and song birds as well as track turtles. 

Congratulations to Jaylen for pursuing his interest in animals and science. Everyone at Bell is proud of your achievement!
